I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker #Coo413 in the State of North Carolina. I am a graduate of Wayne State University School of Social Work with a Master's Degree.
I opened a counseling practice in Hendersonville NC, in 1987. Along with my practice, I joined the staff of Personnel Performance Systems in 1988 as an employee-assistance counselor with many local companies. I also worked as a consultant and for Pardee Hospital Psychiatric Unit and the Eating Disorder program at Park Ride Health.
People come to counseling for a variety of reasons. Some are experiencing unexpected changes in their lives, while others seek self exploration and personal growth. When coping skills are overwhelmed by stress, lack of support, or fear, therapy can help.
There are many approaches and methods that may be useful in counseling. My favorite method is the one that works best for the clients. Whether I am counseling individuals, couples or families, I attempt to find the right fit to enhance their experience.
My treatment specialties include:
- Addiction/ Recovery
- Anger Management
- Anxiety and Panic Disorders
- Conflict Resolution
- Family Issues
- Grief and Loss
- Medical and Health Concerns
- Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder
- Sexual Concerns
- Substance Abuse
- Stress Management Trauma
- Work and Career Issues
- And others..
A session lasts about 50 minutes and weekly sessions may be best at first to get start on the primary issues. I try to make face to face contact with a new client as quickly as possible.
I am a network provider for many health care and managed care organizations. You must always check with your insurer to make sure services with me are covered. It is very important that you call ahead to make sure that I am a network provider and the details including the address to where the claim is to be sent. I ask you to see if the company can fax its forms to (828) -696-2649.
I am a Provider for most Insurance and Employee Assistance Programs.
I also have a sliding fee scale, which will be discussed at your first session.
